Frequently Asked Questions

  • A: Executive coaching involves partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their professional potential, often unlocking previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership.

  • A: Both a Life Coach and an Executive/Leadership Coach work with a client to help them move forward toward clearly established goals. However, while a Life Coach may focus solely on helping a client find balance in their lives, build or repair relationships, break bad habits, etc., the Executive Coach guides their client through these types of issues with a primary focus on supporting the client’s professional growth and success.

  • A: Using powerful questions, frameworks and tools, an Executive Coach guides the client to develop their own solutions, rather than providing the answers. This places agency squarely in the client’s hands during the coaching engagement - and builds capabilities and resources the client can draw on long after it ends. By contrast, consultants often take more of an advisory approach, making recommendations based on their expertise to solve a specific problem, and much of the power resides with the consultant as the “expert.”

  • A: Honestly, I’m not a big fan of the word “should”. I’m not here to tell you what you “should” do, I’m here to help you to access the gifts, talents and potential you already possess with ease so you can achieve your goals. That said, listening and intuitive questioning to get you unstuck and moving forward are two of my superpowers, and I’ve been told hundreds of times that I do those things better than anyone else. The real question is whether you are ready to put those superpowers to work for YOU.

  • A: For those who are serious about engaging an Executive Coach, a Coaching Discovery Call will allow a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space to:

    * Learn about you, your life and business goals, and what you want to achieve with Executive coaching

    * Let you experience some empowering coaching questions, get a sense of the process, and begin to see what value it may offer you

    * Allow us to determine if your goals and the results you want to achieve are something I can help you with - are we a good match?

    * Understand all that is involved in the Executive coaching process - yes, transformation, but also accountability, hard work, vulnerability, transparency, openness to new ways of being and thinking, etc. Again - are we a good match?

    * (If it’s a match) Agree to work together, and move toward executing a contract, establishing payment and setting up our meetings.

Note #1: if I don’t believe that I can help you, it won’t be a match, but it’s not personal! And I will do my best to refer you to someone better situated to tackle your needs. Likewise, I’ve said elsewhere on this site that I’m not for everyone - and it’s true! If I’m not for you, I won’t take it personally, so please be honest.

Note #2: I know your time is valuable, and I will always do everything in my power to honor our committed time. Likewise, I ask that you extend me the same courtesy. If we have a Coaching Discovery Call scheduled, please “be there or be square” (of course, barring any last minute emergencies). If you do need to reschedule, 24 hours’ notice is required.

  • A: If a Coaching Collective is open for application, it will be listed on my Coaching Offering page. If applications are not being accepted at this time, please click here to add your name to my waitlist, which will ensure you are notified when a new Collective is enrolling.
